Highlights
According to recent monitoring of landmine and other Explosive Ordnance (EO) incidents in the first three months of 2025, a total of 227 casualties have been reported nationwide. This figure already represents 21% of the total casualties reported in 2024, which were 1,082.

Delving into the regional breakdown, Rakhine State has the highest number of incidents and casualties with 31 incidents and 52 casualties (23%). Shan State followed with 29 incidents and 49 casualties (22%). Magway Region ranked third with 24 incidents and 35 casualties (15%). The remaining States and Regions collectively accounted for 40% of the total casualties.

Children constitute 26% of the total casualties arising from landmine and other EO explosions across the country. It is important to note that these figures only reflect civilian casualties.
